DOG BOARDING

We encourage customers to bring their own food, keeping a dog's diet consistent helps to keep stress levels down and prevents upset tummies. However, if you prefer, we also provide food. If your dog requires medications a highly trained staff member will administer them free of any extra charges. 

We provide fresh blankets and elevated beds for all of our canine friends. If you would prefer to bring your own bedding or have a special blanket at home, feel free to bring that with you, however it is possible that personal items will get soiled or damaged. 

In order to keep your pet as safe and healthy as possible, we require your dog to be current on their Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordatella vaccinations. However, we suggest checking with your vet prior to your dogs' stay to see if there are any other vaccinations they recommend before boarding.

Here at Lucky Dog, we strive to make your dog’s visit as enjoyable as possible. But despite all of our efforts boarding can be stressful on some dogs. This is especially true for dogs that have never boarded before (or haven’t boarded very often), older dogs, dogs that are highly sensitive to change, or dogs with ailments.

Your dog may exhibit behavior that is not “normal” for them while they are boarding, for example, excessive barking, change in appetite, urinating or defecating in their kennel, etc. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness but it is possible that your dog may get dirty during their stay with us. We recommend our bathing services! Just let us know if we can bathe your dog the day that you return from your trip. It is also important to note that despite our efforts, your dog’s personal belongings (i.e. leashes, collars, bowls, bedding, toys, etc.) may become dirty or damaged during your dog’s stay. 

Please be aware that during your dog’s stay they may come in contact with natural insurgents, for example Canine Cough, even if they are current on their bordatella vaccination. Canine Cough is a highly contagious virus very similar to the common cold in humans. 

For your comfort, we record all food intake for your dog at each meal so that we can be aware of any changes in diet. We also do a daily wellness check on your dog. By spending this extra time with your dog we can detect any changes on their body, for example hot spots can sometimes be hidden under the dog’s fur or in a particular place we wouldn’t usually see. We have found these procedures to be extremely effective in maintaining the health and comfort of your dog.
